He has a successful political and diplomatic career that started in 1988 when he was elected President of Youth and Sports Committee in Cairo Local Council, President of Gezira Youth Center, Advisor for years to the youth and sports committee in the Egyptian Parliament, Chairman of the National Environmental Protection Society of Egypt since 2000. The most significant years in his life were 1996-2000, when he was selected to be Cultural and Educational Attachè in the Egyptian Embassy in London
Now he is on the board of the Arab European leadership Network In Higher Education (ARELEN) chairman of the advisory committee agriculture and fundamental sciences in the SCU and use to leads the Leadership projects for years. Chairman of EDUGATE the annual prestigious exhibition & conference.
Professor Ali Shams El Din was member of Egypt UK governance board for Higher Education reform . Moreover, he was member of the executive committee of the University alliance of the Silk Road (UASR). He received awards and recognitions from different academic and Political institutions.
Biography
Professor Ali Shams El Din is an experienced chairperson with a background in higher education, scientific research, agriculture, and business consultancy. With a strong background in analytical skills, management, teamwork, and strategic leadership, he has held various positions in the Egyptian government and industry. El Din has also served as the first elected president of Benha University in 2011. He has also been a member of the Egyptian UK governance board for Higher Education reform and the executive committee of the University Alliance of the Silk Road (UASR).
